FREE Date Jar Printable (Perfect for Valentine's Day)

Happy New Year everyone. I had a lovely break over the festive period (I hope you did too) and I'm fully back into our usual daily routine.

One thing that can happen when you're consumed by a daily routine is you can forget to make time for yourself and your partner - especially if you have children.

So, with Valentine's day on the horizon I thought I would create a printable with 14 different date ideas. You can cut them out and put them in a pretty bowl or jar and pull one out once a month or whenever you fancy a date.

I'd love to hear if you use this and if it is useful. You can tweet me or leave a comment below. Happy dating and happy Valentine's day when it comes.

FREE 2017 Printable Calendar

With the New Year fast approaching I thought I would take this chance to get on top of things for next year. I (like most people) have good intentions at the start of every year and it always helps to have a pretty calendar to encourage me to be more organised.

So this year, I have designed a 2017 printable calendar - and it's totally FREE! This A4 printable calendar includes space to set yourself 3 creative and 3 personal goals for each month.

I have kept the design minimal so that printing this calendar won't use up all of your ink. Each month features a copper floral motif. I chose copper because I've been obsessed with using copper materials in my hair accessories recently and a lot of my hair pieces and jewellery have a floral influence.

I hope you love this calendar.

YOU CAN DOWNLOAD IT HERE

I'd love to hear where you're using your calendar, you can comment below or you can tweet me a picture of it in use.

6 Ways to Organise an Enjoyable Face to Face Networking Event.

6 ways to organise an enjoyable face to face networking event

I normally dread networking events - I think most people do. They are usually a stuffy affair with lots of people making nervous introductions and handing out a stack of business cards - often just for the sake of handing out business cards.

Wouldn't it be nice to go to an event with lots of likeminded business people and enjoy proceedings from start to finish? Here are 6 ways to organise an enjoyable face to face networking event. I know this works because I attended an event very like this recently and actually enjoyed it!

1. Invite people who will enjoy what you have to offer. If you are in a female networking group and your event will be quite girly then that's a good start. Or, if you're a creative and you are in a network of creative's - invite them.

2. Make the event exclusive so that your guests feel special. Make sure they know that they have to RSVP to get on the guest list.

3. Organise several short fun demos by you and your fellow contributors or speakers. For example - a mini fashion show or a demo like 'how to make a necklace' or 'how to make a cocktail'.

4. Play music (or get a DJ) and provide drinks and snacks so that you have a real party atmosphere. The music also means there are less awkward silences. To keep costs down you can also invite local businesses to provide snacks and drinks as a sample of what they have to offer - just make sure you include them in your advertising.

5. Make sure, as the host that you ask anyone that you've not met before, who they are and what they do so that they feel their visit was worthwhile. You want them to attend any future events and if they feel like they were just just to make up numbers they probably won't come back.

6. Create a hashtag for your event. Make sure it is well displayed all over your venue and on your marketing materials so that your guests can share the entire experience on social media. It's a great way to get your event and your business name shared with all of your guests' customers and followers.

Do you love or hate networking? Have you been to an enjoyable networking event, if so - what made it enjoyable? I'd love to hear in the comments below, or you can tweet me.

New Piece - Delicate Gold Tulip Earrings

delicate gold tulip earrings black copper crystal - great for alternative brides

delicate gold tulip earrings blue crystal - great for alternative brides

delicate gold tulip earrings blush crystal - great for alternative brides

This piece isn't exactly new. I made it a few months back. I always forget to share my new items on the blog!

I've been busy with wedding fairs and Christmas markets for the last few weeks so my poor old blog has been neglected. I made these earrings in three colour ways. The black and copper option is by far the most popular at local fairs so far. I love the rich combination of colours in the black and copper pair.

These are really dainty earrings so are perfect for both day and evening wear. I am going to keep a pair for myself as I think they are really versatile and pretty. You can find them in my Etsy shop here.

Which colour is your favourite? Leave a comment below or tweet me.

Perfect Party Earrings - Turquoise and Clear Crystal Earrings

Perfect party earrings - turquoise and clear crystal earrings

I designed these crystal earrings with the party season in mind. It's the perfect time of year to allow a bit of sparkle into your life. What I love about these earrings is that they add a bit of colour to your look because the coin crystal that I have used is a gorgeous turquoise blue/green colour.

As well as parties, these earrings are great for bridesmaids, alternative brides, a gift or for any other special occasion.  The ear hook is rhodium plated so it is tarnish resistant too.

I will have these along with all of my creations available for sale at the Culter Christmas Fayre on Saturday and the Crathes Christmas Wonderland on 3rd and 4th December. You can also find them in my Etsy Shop.

Are you a fan of a bit of sparkle over the festive season - or maybe you're a fan of sparkle all year round. Let me know in the comments or tweet me.

5 Ways to Decorate with Copper this Party Season

5 ways to decorate with copper this party season

I absolutely love copper. It has featured in a number of my accessory designs this season. I Think it is rich and a bit more edgy than gold. Gold is traditionally used during the holiday season so why not try something a little different and make this festive season all about copper. Here are 5 ways to decorate with copper this party season.

5 ways to decorate with copper this party season

1. I love the combination of black with this copper charger, cutlery and copper accents on the black stationery. You can find similar copper cutlery here, A copper charger here, and my friend Kirsty from Paper Fox has some fantastic Copper Stationery designs.

2. Who doesn't love balloons? What makes a balloon even better? - if it's copper of course. You can find similar copper letter balloons via Brit and Co.

3. These tags would look gorgeous strung up as a garland to decorate for a copper themed soiree. You can make anything coppery if you buy some copper leaf!

4. This Vase is made by placing a vase inside a section of copper pipe. Such a clever idea for a party!

Terrariums are still popular, so why not add some extra impact with copper ones?
